Ep 97 How to stand out from the crowd

photo-ep97-artwork

Photography can sometimes be a competitive landscape. So how you make yourself stand out from the crowd?

In this episode, Gina and Valerie discuss the key elements you need to consider if you want to have a point a difference, make people remember you (for all the right reasons) and bring something extra to the table. Often, it’s not actually about your actual photography. It’s to do with your attitude and your confidence.

Australian Photography Awards: People & Culture – Winners (image #20)

Suzanne Sheridan
This photo was taken during the Brisbane Open House weekend, 8/9 October, and I submitted and promptly forgot about it.
Feeling rather down and despondent about my photography while having a cup of coffee I got an email, at that very time, to say that I had won an award for the category I had entered it in. I thought that it would only be a commendation but I had won the Interior category.
It is a nice feeling to be back on track .

Jaquetta Steger Garland‎ (USA)
I’ve stumbled upon your podcast relatively recently and have been listening intently ever since trying to catch up. So please forgive this late post on #birds, but they are one of my favorite subjects and I was so pleased to capture this shot. I would really love to hear your feedback on it. I’m just a newbie in this field, but its under my skin. Thank you for providing such an awesome podcast. I listen with eagerness!

How to stand out from the crowd

Post production is good
You put in the hours
You dress well
But how do you get noticed? How do you stand out from all the other photographers?

There are qualities that many successful photographers have that get them noticed that have very little to do with their technical abilities
