Nat Ord is an award-winning photographer who specialises in portrait, fine art and commercial photography. Nat is passionate about the natural environment, discovering & sharing stories of people and uses her camera to document and share their stories. Using her camera as a passport she enters worlds and has photographed politicians, musicians, artists, athletes and everyday heroes.

Nat’s love of photography was initially spurred by a life-long love of the great outdoors. Before becoming a full-time photographer, Natalie was an ecologist. She could be found knee deep in the Murray River, undertaking fauna surveys in the Alps and working with landholders to improve the biodiversity values on their properties.

Her online gallery has attracted over a million visits and the list of galleries where she has exhibited and been acknowledged is steadily growing.  Among the accolades;  Winner of the International Women’s Day Photography Competition, Recipient of the John & Margaret Baker Memorial Fellowship 2016, and Commendation in the Sony World Photography Organisation London.  Exhibitions in which she was a finalist include the International Macquarie Photography Prize, Hume Bank Acquisitive Contemporary Art Award, MAMA Art Foundation National Photography Prize, National Photographic Portrait Prize 2017 and the Fremantle International Portrait Prize 2017.

Nat continues to develop a diverse portfolio of work – whether out in the field, intrepidly photographing Death Valley, the Alpine Region of Victoria, and streetscapes of Japan; or on-stage photographing high-calibre musicians such as Carlos Santana, John Mayer, The Wailers, Chris Isaak and Elvis Costello.

Nat has recently been named as a Creative Guide for Vagabond Photographic, an upcoming brand that share her values and endeavour to share photography through education and exploration.  

Currently shooting for her first solo exhibition in Feb 2018, Nat is immersed in researching and photographing pioneering and ground breaking women of the Murray region in portraiture and place.  To be exhibited at MAMA, Albury.
